Description/Usage:
Indications: For the treatment of chronic, slow-healing wounds, such as venous leg ulcers and pressure sores. For the treatment of second-degree burns and transplanted skin.
Contraindications: Hydrocoll should not be used where bones, muscles, or tendons are exposed. Also not for clinically infected wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, fungal infections, or third-degree burns.
High-risk patients such as diabetics should be carefully monitored when using this product.
Material: The dressings are composed of synthetic elastomers and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (NaCMC) in a matrix structure covered with a semi-permeable polyurethane film. The dressing is both gelatin- and colophony-free.
The standard dressings are 0.67 mm thick, and the Thin version is 0.37 mm.
All Hydrocoll dressings are sterile.
The product is classified as a medical device, Class IIb, sterile. CE marked according to EU Directive 93/42/EEC.
NOTE: Can also be used as a blister plaster. However, they should be cut to size as needed.
