Description.
Mepitel One is a wound contact layer made of polyester coated with silicone adhesive on one side. The silicone adhesive adheres gently to dry skin and can be removed without stripping the skin, thus reducing pain and trauma during dressing changes.
Mepitel One can remain in place for up to 14 days depending on the condition of the wound. This reduces the need for frequent changes of the primary dressing. The open structure of Mepitel One allows fluid to pass through to an absorbent secondary dressing. The Safetac layer prevents the secondary dressing from sticking to the wound, thereby minimizing pain and trauma during dressing changes. The Safetac layer seals around the wound edges, preventing fluid from leaking onto the surrounding skin and thus reducing the risk of maceration.
Application:
Mepitel One is designed for a wide range of wounds, such as painful wounds, skin tears, abrasions, surgical incisions, partial-thickness burns, traumatic wounds, blisters, partial- and full-thickness skin grafts, skin reactions following radiation therapy, leg and foot ulcers. Mepitel One can also be used as a protective layer on non-exuding wounds and areas with fragile skin.
Note!
When Mepitel One is used on burns or in connection with facial reconstruction, it may leave marks if the product is not used correctly. The wound should be inspected for signs of infection in accordance with current practice. If signs of infection appear, a physician should be contacted.
If Mepitel One is used on patients with Epidermolysis Bullosa, dressing changes should be carried out more carefully, as the adhesive strength of Mepitel One is stronger than that of Mepitel.
Mepitel One used on burn wounds treated with grafts: Avoid unnecessary pressure on the dressing.
Mepitel One used in connection with facial reconstruction: Avoid unnecessary pressure on the dressing; lift and reposition the dressing at least every second day.
When Mepitel One is used for fixation of skin grafts and blisters, the dressing should not be changed before the fifth day.
