Description/Usage:

Menthol has been used for hundreds of years as a cooling agent, especially in cough and cold medicaments, but also for salves, creams and massage oils. You get the experience of a cooling and cleansing effect from menthol, both when used internally and externally. Menthol is solid at room temperature, but becomes liquid when you heat it. Vera Cura's menthol crystals can therefore be used for products in the home, cosmetics, beauty products and for homemade sweets. Vera Cura's menthol crystals are naturally extracted from mint and thus not synthetically produced, as is common with menthol crystals.

Use menthol crystals for:

• Homemade cough drops. For example, mix with licorice essence to make the taste a little rounder than in a pure menthol form.
• Homemade menthol chewing gum.
• Ointments and creams get a cleansing and cooling effect with menthol, e.g. hand and foot creams. 
• Mouthwash and toothpaste with menthol.
• Homemade lip balm with, for example, olive oil, beeswax and added menthol.  
• Mixed into massage oil - menthol acts as a muscle relaxant.
• Adding menthol to bath salts.

• Menthol can be dissolved in propylene glycol, glycerin and water - The rate of dissolution increases if the temperature is increased to approx. 30-35°C. Many perfumes contain menthol because it emphasizes floral notes.
