Vitamin D

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin found especially in fish such as salmon, anchovy, and herring, as well as in cod liver. Vitamin D is also present in eggs and chicken but is almost absent in plants. In the summer, we produce the precursor to vitamin D in the skin when exposed to sunlight, after which it is converted via the liver and kidneys into active vitamin D.

Vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system.

Vitamin K

Vitamin K is a fat-soluble vitamin that occurs in two natural forms: K1 (phylloquinone), found in green plants, and K2 (menaquinone), which is produced by bacteria in the gut and found in animal and fermented products such as cheese.
